We have a dynamic fellowship of believers that will meet you right where you are. Whether you are just curious about church and God or you're a committed Christ follower, we would love to meet you.

Homecoming- Celebrating 80 Years of Ministry in the Chester Community

It's that Homecoming time of year again!

It won't be long until the campus of the Saluda Street Church of God will be filled with laughter, tears of joy, and those special memories from from days gone by.

This year, however, will be a special milestone in the history of our church. It was in 1932 that the first church in Chester was planted by Rev. Faile and Wade H. Horton in an old store building on Gadsen street. Now, some 80 years and 4 locations later, the same fellowship still continues to thrive.

 

We will be celebrating with our homecoming servivce followed by a "pot luck" dinner in the Family Life Center. We will have many exhibits of historical documents and items from the past on display throughout the buildings. We will have door prizes, games for the kids, and will also unveil a pictoral DVD that showcases memories from the last 80 years. Heart 2 Heart Ministries will be singing during the service and we will have an afternoon sing, showcasing them and local area talent. Former General Overseer Dr. G. Dennis McGuire will be our speaker.
